Consider the following:
HEARING the gospel destroys the interest in sin. Romans 10:17
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
BELIEVING the gospel destroys the pleasure of sin. Mark 16:16
“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be dondemned.”
REPENTANCE destorys the practice of sin. Acts 2:38
“Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” NKJV
CONFESSION destroys the allegiance to sin. Romans 10:9, 10
“…that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” NKJV
BAPTISM destroys the guilt of sin. Acts 22:16
“And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” NKJV
